- I get your point and generally agree. I was not necessarily saying that funky
- looks are good looks. The point I was trying to make is that all the web pc's
- are taking a non-traditional look to them. Most people are making comparisions to
- traditional designs which I prefer myself.

- Again I agree. I was just trying to relay the msg of this article which in sumary
- I believe is this:
-
- Most web pc's will be:
- based on older cpu technology
- intended to attract the non-tradtional user; i.e new markets
- have a funky design; good or bad, to distinguish them from the norm
- have small efficient OS, a place where the Amiga shines
-
- The computer business on the whole is on a downswing right now and companies feel
- they need to attract a new type of user. And the people who visit this newsgroup
- are generally not the ones who would be interested in just a web pc and that includes
- me. The Internet has gotten so much publicity these days and I know several people
- who know nothing about computers, but have expressed an interest in surfing the net.
- For them, a $500 web surfer might seem ideal. Personally, that just means more newbies
- clogging up the net.
-
- That's all folks,
